Hello All! As we prepare to travel to Ethiopia to meet Wogene, we have been inspired by the fundraising efforts of families that have gone before us. We want to be a part of supplying Ethiopia’s children with essentials that we sometimes take for granted in our own lives. Things like diapers, formula, underwear for older children, and shoes are scarce in the children’s homes (orphanages), not to mention that good developmental toys are practically nonexistent. So many people have been gracious enough to ask us how they can help with our adoption journey and we finally have an answer–help us help them!
Here’s how it works: Make a contribution to our “Chip In” account. Since we are traveling so soon, we don’t have a lot of time so please don’t hesitate! On June 16th, we will take the money we have collected from everyone and locally purchase as much as we can of the items I mentioned above. I can assure you that this money will ONLY go towards these items. In other words, you’re not buying our plane tickets to Africa 🙂 We felt collecting money rather than asking people to go out and buy items on their own and then bringing them to us was too much trouble–it simplifies the process to do it this way, but again, this money will only go towards items we will take to the orphanage for the children.
Any amount is appreciated and certainly no amount is too small. These children have literally nothing but the clothes on their backs and one pair of shoes (and from Wogene’s pictures, they are either too small or too large for his body). Many thanks for your time and we hope you’ll help us reach our goal of maxing out what we can bring on the airplane to put some smiles on these children’s faces! Click on the box to donate!
