My husband and I both own this jacket. You can’t beat the weight of 5.5 ounces. I wouldn’t necessarily depend on it keeping me dry for days on end if I were hiking in a rain forest, but I do take it for 99% of the hikes and backpacking trips I do these days. This jacket is recommended by many a thru hiker–Erin Saver from Walking With Wired is who turned me onto it initially.

The only drawback of this jacket is that it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. For instance, pit zips and pockets are both missing. So if that’s important to you, look elsewhere!
