Sunny Health and Fitness Indoor Bike
Slight diversion from hiking/backpacking deals, but this indoor bike is a fabulous Daily Deal on Amazon for and I own a model slightly inferior to this one and love it (the one I own is actually more expensive than this one is today on sale….and I bought mine on sale and still paid more than this!).
Today only, it’s $449 which is 36% off the regular price of $699, and this also includes free Prime shipping and free “expert assembly” (which means they’ll send someone to your home to set it up for you). For what it’s worth, my husband set mine up in about 45 minutes and said it was easy to do, if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of waiting on someone.
If you struggle getting to the gym because of life obligations or just don’t want to pay a hefty fee to belong to a good gym, having one of these is a game changer for a quick and easy, low-impact, fitness option at home. I also like that this doesn’t give me the sometimes lame excuse of rain, snow, cold weather, etc. from preventing a workout.
You can get the Peloton app for $19 per month and plug into their HUGE selection of classes with this bike (which is what I do). There are plenty of other similar app programs, but Peloton seemed to have the best selection for the price, so that’s what I went with and haven’t been disappointed. The bike that Peloton sells is four times the cost of this one at the sale price (and the Peloton bikes comes with a hefty fee per month (~$40) to use it instead of a non-Peloton bike like this that you use with their app.
From everything I read before purchasing mine, buying an indoor bike with magnetic resistance, like this one has, is the way to go for low maintenance and consistent tension control. It’s also super quiet. We have truly loved ours.
I have mine set up in front of some french doors in our basement to give me the illusion of cycling outdoors while I’m on it. 😉 There are a couple of inexpensive extra things you can do and buy if you have a bike like this and use the Peloton app for classes, to feel like you’re not missing out (for instance, add this cadence sensor).
If you have specific questions about it, drop a comment below and I’m happy to help. Good fitness is the key to not suffering on a long hike, and this bike has definitely helped me with that goal!
